So my husband turned to me and said, “I crave Indian food”. I immediately whipped out my phone. After looking around on Google Maps, I noticed an Indian Restaurant called Curry Kitchen with a 4.8 star rating. Huh, I thought, let’s go try it out! As soon as we walked in I had a good feeling. The restaurant was not big but felt spacious, bright, and airy, perfect for a warm Texas evening.
We were allowed to sit wherever we liked, and we chose a cozy booth right next to a large window. As I paged through the menu, I was immediately drawn to their large naan selection. Naan is a traditional Indian flat bread baked on a hot stone oven and sometimes coated with glistening butter. Without hesitation my husband insisted on ordering some Peshwari naan, something I’d never had. And boy was I missing out! When the order came, it was pipping hot and I could see the bits of crumbly filling bulging out.
Honestly, when I took the first bite, it felt like I was in a food dream. Buttery, crunchy, nutty, hints of sweetness from the dried fruit but with a slight saltiness from the butter, all perfectly balanced in every sliced. “I can eat this forever!”, I told my husband. Really, if you’ve never tried Peshwari naan, and particularly the one made at Curry Kitchen, you are truly missing out!
